The first MTB race of the year is over. The trails were super muddy but I managed to pull off a 3rd place finish in Cat 1 for the 19-29 age group. That sounds good'n all but everyone behind me DNF'ed for one reason or another. I also think I finished last overall(last finisher, some didnt finish) but I dont really care because it was the first race of the year and I lost all motivation by the half way point when none of the gears on my bike would work. The trails sucked ass. The mud was super greasy and soft by the third lap. I wish I could sit here and wright about how awesome it was.... but it wasn't. My new XX kit was ghost shifting like crazy and my new crank arms are scuffed up pretty good also. As I used to say when buying a new motocross bike..... gotta ride the "NEW" off that shit. That's never fun though because that means all the money you just spent on the shiny stuff is... well.... well its just not shiny anymore, which sucks. Anyway, the race was run very well and on time so no complaints there. Hope the LV race in two weeks is dry.
I also did the first Tuesday worlds this week and I felt ok at best. I think I finished about 12th or so out of about 50 or 60 riders. There was a small break away of 3 or 4 that finished ahead of the main group and I was only able to pull about 9th in the pack sprint.... My legs felt pretty dead at the finish. I haven't really done any sprinting since Gateway cup last year. Actually, this is a good thing. I feel like this will be my year to win a couple of the A races and hopefully win a few Cat 3 crits early on for some upgrade points. I have tons of room to improve and I am already near the front. Last year a 3rd was my best in the A race. Its early in the year and im just starting to touch on top end. Wut eva....

Yo skeezy, turns out that you got 2nd! Badass. So i've got your wicked sweet medallion if you want it.
Matt, 2nd place(also named scott) got a DQ with usacycling because his international license was screwed up. Whether he got DQ'ed or not, he still beat me.
I got your card, and you should be seeing some top secret mail in about 2 weeks!
