2010 thangs, goals, and what nots....

First and foremost the weather sucks ass as our weather usually does. This has not gotten me down too much though. I have ridden close to 500 miles outside since the middle of January this year on my cross bike(which needs some major TLC). I have been training this winter with a much different approach than any other year that I have ever trained. I have a plan, a training bible, and a email in my inbox that cleared some things up and should have me on the right track this year. Last year was my first year as a exSPORT/Cat 1.5. This year I want to be exPERT/Cat1. Last season was a real eye opener on what fitness is. Now I have a better understanding of how hard I should be training at different times of the year. I also have been reading about recovery, and that you get faster when your recovering, not when your training. You still have to train hard though, they both go hand in hand and are equally important.

Ok, no more of that crap.. I DIDNT GET INTO LEADVILLE.................AGAIN!!!

So it looks like I might be heading to the Breck 100 in late July for a suffer fest like no other. Course record is 8:33. Ouch! Goal is to finish. I did a lot of riding on the Breck course this past year and its going to hurt. I still plan to race the Expert races and use them for top end training. I want to impove on top end which I think will help my in all types of racing.

I will race as many MTB races this year as possible in Cat 1. I will also be defending my top 10 at Syllamo. I already know that I cant race the state MTB race at C-wood this year because of the Susan G Koman race for the cure is the same day and I will be there for my mother. The good news is, the NRC circuit race is the next day and I will probably do that. I hope to be able to upgrade to a 2 on the road by mid season. Jesus I am rambling....

Here are some pics of my new MTB build. I have been loosing weight so I can actually use the wheels I bought now. I was 178 at the Cross state race and was 169 yesterday morning(lots of running and swimming this year also). I am hoping with the right diet and training to get to the low 160's by mid summer. Enjoy!!
