Mom threw the white flag out yesterday-Monday the 25th of October. Things went quick. So sad that she is gone.

2010 season has come to an end for me.
I went to Bubba 2 really questioning myself as to why I was even going. My mom has been pretty sick as of late. She has been fighting breast cancer for 17 years. I now know where I get all my fight from thats for sure.
The past year has been pretty hard on her. The past 4 weeks have been really hard. After bubba 2 yesterday I went to see her and hang out with her for a while. She was tired and mostly pain free. We had pizza and hotwings. It was good. She told me she had a doctor appointment today, Monday.
Today at work I thought I would call her and ask how the appointment went. She said the doctors told her the treatments were no longer working and could now "legally" recommend hospice. Her choice at this point "IS" hospice.
Doctors can only do this if they think you have less than 6 months of life left in your body, at least that was my understanding anyway.
Having said these things, my season is over. It was done a month ago when I pretty much stopped training because of what I said above. Its hard to stay focused on bike racing when you have to deal with things like this. Its pretty easy to put it on the back burner, or throw it out completely.
Maybe you noticed at bubba 2(thanks DaveyB, Christopher, Justin Neely, Justin H, and TeamSeagal, for making me smile... you have no idea what that did for me that day), I wasnt exactly up to par.
My plan for right now is to spend as much time with mom as possible. It is possible for me to make a couple of the pride races because they are so close to home. I say that because they dont take much of my time since they are so close for me. And time, its not on my side at this point.

Bubba Cross #1
Bubba Cross 1....thats funny.... thats how many laps I did. Well, plus to the barriers of the second lap... which is where the pit was, and where my spare wheels were that I stopped and grabbed and walked to my car with.
My eyes dont work very good in the dark. Add the dust, the best I could do was just follow the rider in front of me through the dark sections. The thoughts of waring my prescription glasses went through my head before the race. Shoulda... coulda... but didnt. Im fine in the day light.
With that I pulled the plug after the first lap. Pretty lame really. I dont want to start the bubba series off with hating the bubba series so I figued I would just come back today and race the course in the day light. If I make it 2 laps today... that is 100% improvment. Here is to 1000%! I will have a lot more carbon fiber on my bike today too:)
